Known Faults
The caravan is really towards the end of it’s life.
• The floor is badly delaminated – if feels soft/ squishy to walk on. We were
quoted a few hundred to repair it so it was not worth it, but it has got a bit
worse since. The plywood the floor is made from delaminates. The cure is to
drill holes in it and inject resin. Either from below or by removing the carpet
inside. It will need a few resin kits.
• The shower tray is cracked and has a hole in it, and I wouldn’t trust the
mastic seals in the bathroom. We’ve never used the shower.
• The fridge only works on 240V or 12V, not gas. There is a problem with the
vent, which could be fixed.
• The water heater only works on gas. The electric element has never
• The caravan was last serviced 2 years ago, and 2 years before that. Before
that it was serviced every year.
• One or two spots have low damp readings – 20% ish. Above the door and
front corner. Over the years we have had various seals replaced and made
sure damp doesn’t become a problem.
Having said all that the caravan is very clean inside. Outside will need a good wash
after winter storage but comes up quite well.
We were away in it for a week last August and would have gone in it again at the end
of May this year if we had not found another one. We’ve had it 11 years and
generally go away 5-6 times a year.
